Job Summary:
The Process Technician is responsible for the production team to ensure the schedule of mold changes, set-ups, and start-ups are successfully executed. Be able to troubleshoot plastic injection press and auxiliary equipment, program and/or edit programing for robotics. Control the processes in injection molding by performing the following duties (personally or through subordinates) while maintaining superior standards of safety, quality, performance, and housekeeping.

Must be able to create and/or edit programing for robotics
Perform process troubleshooting
Respond to machine alarms as necessary
Part inspections and various other functions to ensure part conformity and quality
Create and maintain set parameter documentation for production equipment
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan daily department or cell operations as required.
Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
Coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
Verifies machine setup, start up and conformance of product to applicable specifications of 1st piece parts before production is released.
Monitors work activities and reviews production and operating reports / documentation to resolve operational, manufacturing, set-up, quality, safety and maintenance issues in a timely fashion.
Confers with maintenance personnel to identify mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on machines.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure operational performance and optimum utilization.
Develops or revises work procedures, standard operational and working practices or instructions, quality procedure checklists as needed and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Maintains records and verifies the accuracy of all documentation generated by department or cell personnel.
Is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment at all times.
As a representative and employee of Quantum Plastics, assures that personal and supervised employees dress (appropriate for the job), hygiene and professional behavior in a team environment is maintained.
May be required to fulfill duties of immediate supervisor as requested.
Educate Train and Promote (EMS) Environmental Management System
Must be able to operate a computer and Microsoft programs; Word, Excel, Outlook.

May also be required to participate in the hiring process.
Promotes open communication at all levels of the organization and between departments.
Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to supervisor for action.
Schedules and directs the work of employees involved in set-up and operation of injection molding, secondary & auxiliary equipment including material handling, inspection, safety, housekeeping, maintenance, QS9000 Procedures & Work Instructions where applicable.
Responsible for insuring that employees are trained and adhere to all operational, quality, safety, security and housekeeping procedures.
Skills and/or Competencies:
Must speak and write English, ability to speak Spanish is highly desired
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Maintain equipment and the workplace by inspecting work areas to uncover hazards, maintain good housekeeping procedures, provide and check for safe tools.
Maintain employee safety and equipment safety by motivating employees to work safely, providing personal protective equipment and enforce its use, provide worker safety training as well as on the job training, know the medical and physical limits of employees and investigate all injuries.
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years’ experience in supervising set-up and operations of injection molding machines.
Experience in team development & leadership preferred.
