The Quebec-Labrador Foundation/Atlantic Center for the Environment (QLF) is a not-for-profit conservation organization in the U.S. and a Registered Charity in Canada. QLF is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, and Ipswich, Massachusetts. QLF has a staff of thirty with Program Consultants, a Board of Directors - Canada and the U.S., Honorary Directors, and a Council, an Advisory Board. The current annual budget is $1.8 million; and the Endowment is $7 million.
QLF’s program mission is to promote global leadership development, to support the rural communities and environment of Eastern Canada and New England, and to create models for stewardship of natural resources and cultural heritage that can be shared worldwide.
Our Need:
Our constantly evolving organization is in need of a Financial Analyst in charge of bookkeeping, accounting, and budget.
The Role:
We are looking for an individual with a strong attention to detail and highly organized who will maintain original entries into Quickbooks in the area of cash including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll using classes, customer fields and items to track financial activity. Demonstrating professional communication skills and competent Excel skills with a demonstrated desire to expand their expertise will allow for expanded work content.
Bookkeeping or accounting experience is required for the position. The monthly work cycle is typical with a higher volume of deadlines the first two weeks of the month, yet depending on skill level, an increased workload is possible.
Responsibilities:
- Working with Finance Department team members maintaining original entries into Quickbooks desktop;
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations in QB;
- Perform account reconciliations in Excel;
- Gather and organize data to perform job functions;
- Identify and communicate obstacles encountered in a timely and succinct manner; and
- Perform duties with a professional curiosity while continually learning to link all data to business operations
- In charge of health insurance, vision, dental, and life insurances.
- Build Budget and Forecast I (effective March 1st) and Forecast II (effective June 1st.)
Searching for the following Skills and Talents:
- Associates or BS/BA in Accounting;
- Very experienced bookkeeper with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
- Quickbooks Desktop experience strongly preferred;
- Attention to being detail oriented and meticulous;
- Excellent teamwork skills using verbal and written communications;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Customer service focus – committed to prompt and accurate responses to data requests from directors and team members;
- Time commitment depends on skills – 30 hours a week, with physical presence required in office, but we are open to limited remote work;
- Can work independently to reach goals, maintain flexibility with remote staff while meeting deadlines, which may require a small amount of non-standard work hours (before 9 am and after 5 pm); and
- Non-profit experience is not required, but strongly preferred.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
