GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

The Human Resources Director drives proactive people, practices, and programs that create and sustain an employee-oriented, high-performance, inclusive, and engaging culture. The HR Director is responsible for coordinating all administrative activities related to the organization’s personnel. Their duties include developing recruitment strategies, implementing and managing policies, procedures, and systems for managing staff benefits and payroll along with sourcing, hiring, onboarding and training / development.

The HR Director is responsible for overseeing HR management and department operations to adhere to organizational policies and procedures. Their duties include communicating between company Executives and management, managing the HR department budget, and coordinating with management to ensure compliance with HR laws and regulations.

This position is an exempt position.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Employee Payroll & Benefits

  • Administer benefit information to employees and answer benefit related questions and ensure all new hires are enrolled in benefits.
  • Manages FLMA leave paperwork and employee insurance premium payments while out on FLMA.
  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, invoices payment processing and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Manages the administration and resolution of unemployment claims.
  • Actively participates in safety committees and assist with tracking of Worker Comp Claims and reporting.

Company Policy

  • Create and maintain HR files and update system information in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Understands and updates the Employee Manual with coordination with management.
  • Address inquiries from employees regarding human resource policies and the Employee Manual
  • Recruitment

  • Establishes recruiting requirements by meeting with hiring managers to discuss needs.
  • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements on job sites and researching the best source to use depending on the position.
  • Identifies target companies, user groups, colleges, community services, professional associations which could inform search parameters.
  • Attend job fairs and other hiring events to maximize our hiring efforts.
  • Determines applicant qualifications by screening applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Arranges interviews by coordinating schedules, escorting applicant to interviews and arranging facility tours.
  • Coordinate offers, pre-employment testing / screening, training and start dates for new hires.
  • Assist with temp vendors to help staff as well as review temp weekly payroll and hours; manage the conversion of temp to permanent.
  • Assist in the executions and coordination of New Hire Orientation and the overall onboarding process
  • Team Development

  • Update personnel records and ensure documentation is appropriate and up to date.
  • Will assist with GMP, Safety, and job level trainings, as needed.
  • Drive company values and culture
  • Implement employee annual review procedures.
  • Track training programs for individual development
  • Support team building exercising such as annual companywide kickoff and holiday party.

  • Manage and track HR budget for expenses.
  • EXPERIENCED REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, Communication, or related fields required.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in Human Resources required.
  • Ability to effectively deal with multiple priorities, functions and activities required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels in the organization and the ability to maintain information in a strict confidential manner required.
  • Must be detailed oriented, result driven with good problem-solving skills.
  • Paycom systems or equivalent system experience preferred.
