QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelors degree in human services preferred or life equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault is also preferred. Must successfully complete all required training. Must be able to pass drug screening and background checks. Must have reliable transportation and a valid drivers license.

JOB SUMMARY : Provide information and referral, case management services, safety planning and advocacy to residential participants / clients. Ensure the on-going operation and security of the shelter and compliance with shelter guidelines. Conduct exit and intake procedures for participants / clients. Answer hotline calls : provide crisis intervention to callers, as well as residents, as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Provide domestic violence and sexual assault participant / client advocacy services, to include :

Case management and follow-up to include :

  • Meeting with participants / clients daily to assist participants / clients in establishing personal goals and working toward meeting those goals. This includes assisting those participants / clients in identifying barriers to meeting their goals and determining alternative ways to reach goals.
  • Facilitating daily and / or weekly referral meetings with residents, providing information and referrals (including referrals to community services as appropriate) and assisting as needed.
  • Providing advocacy, information and referrals (including referrals for legal services as appropriate) to non-residential participants / clients.
  • Safety planning with all participants / clients.
  • Participate in case management meetings.
  • Answer hotline and perform all required victim follow-ups and record keeping.
  • Assisting domestic violence victims with filing victims compensation claims.
  • 2. Provide shelter-based services to residents, including but not limited to :

  • Orientation with new residents regarding House rules and assisting new residents in meeting immediate needs (food, clothing, toiletry items, etc).
  • Conduct intake and exit interviews with any person who is admitted or discharged from the shelter. Review all intake and exits to ensure accuracy and completion of records.
  • Arrange transportation of participants / clients as appropriate.
  • Conduct weekly house meetings when needed.
  • 3. Preserve the integrity and quality of client service programs by maintaining accurate and thorough statistics and records of domestic violence client services. This includes, but is not limited to :

  • Managing accurate record keeping and data collection of client services.
  • Participating in routine maintenance and quality assessments of outreach client files.
  • Ensuring all grant funded services are administered and measured appropriately and that service goals are achieved.
  • Developing annual service & program goals and objectives with the Family Service Director.
  • Regularly informing the Chief Executive Officer of program status through monthly reports and regular status meetings.
  • 4. Network with referral sources and other service providers as appropriate.

    5. Participating in the Domestic Violence Task Force and other related community-based groups.

    6. Every staff member is responsible to do the following :

  • Understand and promote the culture of philanthropy.
  • Serve as a philanthropic ambassador within the organization and community.
  • Help cultivate relationships on behalf of and in support of the organization.
  • Work with development staff to support grant applications and other development activities.
  • 7. In addition to the above responsibilities all employees of Quigley House :

  • Present a positive public image of the program through a high level of professionalism
  • Have the ability to travel, work flexible hours and maintain a positive leadership role.
  • 8. Assume other duties as assigned by the Director of Domestic Violence Services and / or CEO.
