What We Seek:
The Senior Staff Accountant supports the accounting and finance functions of Raben through maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The Senior Staff Accountant also ensures compliance with Raben policies and regulatory requirements and provides accurate and timely financial information to support the decision-making of the Director of Finance and the COO. This position is located in our DC office and follows a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting functions of Raben including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Invoicing on client accounts, initiating and executing the collections process for delinquent accounts
- Manage accounts processing review and verification, approval of bills, record keeping and reconciliation.
- Manages the contract administration process of fully executed contracts and engages clients for purchase orders.
- Serve as a resource for the Finance Coordinator and provide direction or feedback on deliverables.
- Approves and exports expense reports and bills clients for relevant expenses.
- Oversees financial reports including deposit logs, cash snapshots, load analysis, biennial report filing (Raben), census reports, fundraising counsel registration, etc.
- Leads the process of month-end and year-end book closings (including 1099 filings and AJE Entry).
- Assists Director of Finance with budget creation and tracking
- Assists with payroll management, as needed.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Quickbooks, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Salary Range and Benefits:
Our salary for this role is $70,000 commensurate with experience and locality.
