Description :
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for maintaining payroll systems and processing paychecks according to the payroll schedule and in the correct amount. This includes consolidating timesheet information, entering data into payroll databases, calculating paycheck amounts and distributing funds to employee accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Verify timesheets for accuracy.
- Calculate wages, adjusting pay for raises, overtime, bonuses, and commissions.
- Confirm employee payroll records, including details on hours worked, pay rates, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Processing paper checks for distribution.
- Acquiring all necessary signatures to distribute payroll.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports, such as quarterly tax returns, W-2s, and other required documents.
- Validate that all HR actions forms are accurately completed for payroll.
- Respond to inquiries about payroll, resolving any issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform payroll reconciliations, including balancing payroll data, preparing general documentation and spreadsheets.
- Ensure timely remittance to the appropriate agencies and maintain accurate records of all garnishments.
- Report on Quarter End materials.
- Managing the GL uploads from payroll.
