Job Summary:
We are seeking a Payroll Tax Specialist to join our Payroll team. The Payroll Tax Specialist will work closely with our outside partner, ADP, on remittance of payroll taxes and reports. The ideal candidate will be well versed in software systems with advanced Excel knowledge. This position is full-time and based out of Brooklyn, NY headquarters.
General Duties:
Transmit periodic tax files to ADP for every pay cycle and reconcile to payroll registers for the weekly and semi-monthly payrolls. Resolve discrepancies as needed.
Maintain system interface updates and necessary testing
Quarterly tax filing and reconciliation
Monthly state reporting requirements
Handling of federal and state Agency notices and coordinate with ADP on resolution
Maintain state unemployment tax rates and wage base limits in the Lawson payroll and ADP system
Year End: Preparation for annual W-2 form production, (domestic, Puerto Rico and Virgin Island territories)
Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and reporting requirements
Preserve tax filing records and tax returns
Work closely with the payroll and accounting teams to ensure accurate payroll tax deductions and reporting.
Assist with other related projects as assigned
Qualifications:
College degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3 years of experience in payroll tax role
Proficiency in payroll systems and tax reporting software (e.g., ADP, Workday)
Advanced Excel skills (required)
Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
Detail oriented, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Pay Range: $85,000-$120,000
