Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Location: Hospital Rd, Chillicothe, OH 45601
Duration: 13 weeks contract
Shift: Ten-hour Evening or Night shifts per week
Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours

Pay Details:

For Local Candidates pay rate: $47to $50/hr (If your permanent address is within 50 miles from the facility)

For Travelers/Stipend Candidates (If your permanent address is outside the 50 mile radius from the facility):
Blended Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $48.00
Blended Weekly Gross Pay Rate: $1,728.00
Minimum Hourly W2 Pay Rate: $13.39
Min. W2 Weekly Gross (Taxable): $482.04
Weekly Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,245.96

OR

For Traveler 1099 Candidates:
Pay Rate on 1099 to the Candidate: $50.00
Weekly 1099 Traveler Pay Rate: $1,800.00

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team in Chillicothe, OH. This position involves performing laboratory procedures with precision and accuracy, following established quality assurance protocols. The ideal candidate will assist in the collection of specimens, conduct instrument maintenance, and provide expertise in laboratory services, all while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform and accurately document laboratory procedures using established protocols.
• Assist in the collection and preparation of laboratory specimens.
• Maintain and troubleshoot clinical laboratory instruments, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
• Prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide excellent customer service, building rapport with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Use critical thinking to evaluate laboratory results and systematically address problems.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with laboratory standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Must have MLT certification (preferably ASCP).
• EPIC/Beaker computer experience preferred.
• Strong manual dexterity and visual acuity for laboratory procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to interact with patients and colleagues diplomatically.
• Ability to diffuse high-tension situations and maintain professionalism.
