Job Overview:
As a Production Group Leader - Dryer, you will act as the first-line leader supporting team members within your area/zone. You will coordinate day-to-day activities to meet production requirements and ensure your team’s success.
Shift Hours: 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday-Thursday (potential overtime on Fridays).
Responsibilities:
- Create an environment of continuous improvement and empower team members to contribute to lean operations.
- Demonstrate respectful treatment of all team members in discussions, interactions, and decisions.
- Ensure proper training in safety, quality, equipment operation, and 5S for all employees.
- Interface with technical staff to ensure adequate support.
- Establish and work towards annual goals supporting operational metrics.
- Continuously improve processes, reduce inventories, and minimize work-in-progress.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues and interface with Union Stewards on contract and discipline matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience with mechanical and hydraulic press operations, including die set-up and maintenance.
- Proven leadership capabilities, with a history of providing coaching and mentoring in team environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
