What are the responsibilities and job description for the Events Management Coordinator position at Randolph-Macon College?
Randolph-Macon College, a private, co-educational liberal arts institution, invites applications for a full-time Events Management Coordinator. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Campus Relations and Summer Programs, this position will help manage and facilitate special events for the College working cooperatively with colleagues, deans, directors, and trustees throughout the College as needed, and assist with facilitating summer camps and programs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Director in coordinating the College’s special events related to College Advancement and the President’s office to fulfill strategic goals and promote a positive image of the College to major prospects, donors, alumni, and friends.
- Help create an environment that is conducive to educating prospective donors about the College through functions such as the annual major donor recognition event and events for the Board of Trustees, Board of Associates and the Alumni Board.
- Act as Event Registrar for all events; manage invitation lists and responses for all special events.
- Assist in the planning, managing, and overseeing of all Yellow Jacket Club Events (athletic fundraising events) working in concert with the Director of Development for Athletics. This requires some night and weekend hours.
- Assist with the coordination and logistics for summer program/camp opportunities at the College, including facility rentals for camps, conferences, meetings, and other activities.
- Coordinate and facilitate the scheduling and management of facility usage both internally and externally through the college reservation system (EMS).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred plus a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of College Advancement computer services and how they relate to the needs of special events. Knowledge of EMS is highly desired. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge/NXT and GiveSmart (formerly MobileCause) is preferred.
- Superior organizational skills, ability to set reasonable objectives and goals for event planning, and the ability to handle simultaneous coordination of multiple projects.
- Ability to work weekends and evenings as required.
