What are the responsibilities and job description for the Culinary Arts Substitute Chef position at Randolph Technical Career Center?
Orange Southwest School District is seeking a passionate and experienced Culinary Arts Substitute Teacher for 6-8 weeks from April through the end of the year to join the educational team at Randolph Technical Career Center. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of culinary arts, a strong background in cooking, and the ability to inspire and educate students in the art of cooking and baking.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging culinary curriculum and instructional materials for students.
Teach a variety of culinary techniques, including cooking, baking, food safety, and nutrition.
Create and implement hands-on cooking demonstrations and practical experiences.
Manage catering, food truck, fine dining, and coffee carts, etc.
Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
Stay current with industry trends and incorporate new techniques and practices into the curriculum.
Collaborate with other educators and participate in school events and activities.
Qualifications:
Culinary Arts degree or equivalent professional experience.
Proven experience as a chef or culinary professional.
Prior teaching experience is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse learning styles.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
This is a temporary position.
