Summary
Directly responsible for all quality related matters for NA Automation. QM is both tactical and strategic based on project needs. QM role is both external facing (supplier, customer, etc.) and internal facing (plant quality issues, service issues, etc.). QM is responsible for automation equipment.
QM is directly reporting to the Director Global Quality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Building and managing the Automation Quality team.
- Implement, manage, and maintain ISO Quality system co-ordinate with different departments.
- Handle all customer complaints on machines, and visit customer sites, as needed.
- Prepare and present metrics for Management Review.
- Participate and drive Corrective Action Request system, root cause analysis, etc.
- Responsible for Non-conforming Material. Participate in defective material review board and drive re-solution working with plants.
- Participate in New Product Introduction process, meetings, product qualification and design reviews/ meetings. Provide feedback from DFSS and lean concepts.
- Work with Engineering to develop component and equipment test plans and inspection procedures.
- Develop and drive reliability testing of Automation equipment.
- Facilitate QA inspection checklists, inline quality checks, End of Line quality checks.
- Monitor in-house and outsourced component fabrication and production equipment, and provide technical support to improve and maintain quality and reliability.
- Pro-actively address issues, drive org. culture change from quality aspect.
- Support quality functions such as incoming component inspection, equipment inspection, internal auditing, testing, investigation of customer complaints and root cause analysis.
- Work closely with global quality teams.
- Perform supplier quality audits, as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B. E.) from four-year college or university.
- of 10 years’ experience in Quality function (with increasing responsibility).
- Required experience managing team of 2-3 members – office and production members.
- Required understanding of ISO 9001 requirements.
- Proficient in the use of computer applications, for example: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Hands-on working etic
- Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Manager a plus.
- Excellent communication skills at different levels of org.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking ability.
- Understanding of DFSS principles and lean thinking.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to stand, walk, and use hands to handle, feel or finger for periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Travel up to 25% - globally, US plants and to customer sites.
