Our top performing prestigious law firm is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our growing Boston team. This role is responsible for handling all aspects of client billing, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with firm policies and client guidelines. The ideal candidate has experience in legal billing, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process client invoices in accordance with firm policies and client agreements.
- Review pre-bills for accuracy, making necessary revisions such as time entry adjustments and expense corrections.
- Submit invoices electronically through e-billing systems
- Communicate with attorneys, legal assistants, and clients regarding billing inquiries and discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with client-specific billing guidelines and requirements.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices as needed.
- Assist in generating billing reports and financial statements for management review.
- Support month-end and year-end billing processes.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client and firm financial information.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of legal billing and/or accounting experience
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze billing issues and implement solutions.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
