As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Estimating Coordinator to support our daily proposal and estimating process.
Job Overview
The Estimating Coordinator role is responsible for communicating with subcontractors and collecting estimates from them. Building rapport and creating relationships with these companies/subcontractors is of great importance and the most important thing you will be responsible for. The job will require a lot of phone calls and time spent on the phone. In general your job will be to assist with estimating the costs, resources, and labor needed to perform services through research, gathering quotes, preparing reports and monitoring data. The Estimating Coordinator assists with various duties related to the estimating function.
Responsibilities
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors, vendors and subcontractors.
- Getting quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame.
- Preparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be done.
- Assists with various estimating tasks including but not limited to managing RFP documents, obtaining initial quotes and managing data.
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Actively works with the bid team and estimators to design successful bid strategies. Assists in bid preparation and ensures customers receive quotations promptly, tracks and monitors competitor pricing to determine the market value of bids.

- Knowledge of government contract requirements.
- Ability to read blueprints is a major plus
- Knowledge of construction trade requirements and pricing, both rehabilitation and new construction.
- Ability to read and understand instructions to bidders, including but not limited to General Conditions, Special Conditions, and Specifications, Technical Specifications, and Project Schedule.
- Extensive knowledge of building practices. Working knowledge of construction takeoff and estimating software programs. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Superior interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals.
- Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
