Location : Rapid City, South Dakota | Ellsworth Air Force Base
Job Type : Full Time
Work Schedule : Monday - Friday some weekend work may be required depending on project schedule
Performance Evaluated by : Foreman, Superintendent, and Director of Paving and Grading
Purpose : Operates several types of construction equipment to include, but not limited to backhoes, dozers, or rough grader. Demands require worker with experience in the heavy, civil construction industry and ability to work under limited direction and supervision of the Foreman

Follow site grading and operations plans, read grade stakes and operate in a medium to fine grade environmentPerform a daily heavy equipment walk-around inspection and preventative maintenance responsibilitiesClean, maintain, and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies, and proceduresEnsure equipment is safely and securely storedComply with the Operations & Maintenance Guide for our core and secondary equipmentJOB QUALIFICATIONS
Possess a working knowledge of construction / equipment safetyFive (5) years or more of industry related experience is required for this position, with an emphasis on airfields, roads, highways, and bridgesDemonstrable previous experience as a Heavy Equipment OperatorMust be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employeesMust understand the different signals used to signal operators of construction machineryValid Driver's licenseReliable method of going to and from workMust be able to obtain and maintain clearance for military base accessMust abide by all policies within the employee manualPHYSICAL DEMANDS
