Dietary Supervisor
STARTING RATE: $17.00 (paying $17.00 – $18.00 per hour, depending on experience)
SHIFT: Full- Time 37.5 hours a week, 5 days/week 12p-8p, including every other weekend.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Dietary Supervisor promotes the health and well-being of residents through nutrition management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the dietary departmental staff and all facets of food preparation
- Ensures adherence to standardized recipes
- Ensures nutritional requirements (as directed by the registered dietitian)
- Ensures facility and departmental policies and procedures, safe handling practices, and infection control standards

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Dietary Supervisor promotes the health and well-being of residents through nutrition management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the supervision of the dietary departmental staff
- Assists in the maintenance of departmental record keeping, including updating and replacing resident tray cards, preparing daily production sheets, and maintaining the therapeutic diet tally as needed
- Responsible for opening or closing the kitchen
- Ensures facility and departmental policies and procedures, safe handling practices, and infection control standards
- Monitors all costs associated with Dietary Department and maintains accurate records of invoicing
- Follows the established standardized recipes, monitors food production and waste
- Oversees food service and ensures that meals are properly prepared
REQUIREMENTS:
- Post-secondary education required
- At least one year of experience in health care supervisory food service
- A.S. degree in food and management or equivalent education, skill, and knowledge required
- Strong written and verbal communications skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Able to work well with staff members, physicians, residents, and family members
- Sound math and computer skills
- Ability to supervise and lead a diverse work group; committed to assisting in the training and education of dietary aides
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and job responsibilities
- Exceptional time management skills
