What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer position at RD Rubber Technology Corporation?
Summary :
Responsible for manufacturing engineering support in the production and quality control. Identify areas for safety and productivity improvements, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designing new products and processes, as well as ensuring cost-efficiency and conformance with regulatory standards.
Duties and responsibilities include the following.
Production Support
Provide engineering and technical support in manufacturing processes, conduct daily Material Review Board (MRB), identify non-conformance root cause, and implement corresponding corrective actions.
Provide engineering support in equipment procurement planning & justification, set-up & qualification, maintenance, calibration, performance evaluation and disposition.
Develop and maintain documentation of procedures for the manufacture and inspection of company's products.
Maintain accurate and up to date information on routing, set-up, run rates, yield, material consumption, attendance, and all other applicable manufacturing resources in MRP.
Facilitate employee resource training when required.
New Product Introduction and First Articles
Coordinate new tooling and First Article sample inspection and reporting.
Confirm and define actual manufacturing processes and resources needed. Evaluate against quote estimate. Update part template in MRP when necessary.
Continual Improvement
Implement continual improvement and cost reduction (PIP) projects to mitigate waste process variations and inflation. 2. Conduct structured, data based, DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) project management, auditing, and report documentation.
Provide weekly metric reports. Present data sets using Pareto, Histogram, Process flow map or relevant control charts, calculate Process Capability, Yield or Sigma ratings, Scatter plot, FMEA, A3, etc. when required.
External Technical Support
Provide engineering support to customers on their existing product, manufacturing capabilities and new product development.
Engage customers to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Recommend design for manufacturability.
Manage tool and external process vendors for competitive cost and lead-times at the highest levels of quality and product performance. Assist in tooling design to optimize functionality.
EH&S and 6S :
Ensures a safe work environment.
Monitors and ensures compliance of a safe work environment incorporating housekeeping standards (6S). Maintains and controls the physical condition of the plant and surrounding grounds.
Maintains & enforces policies, procedures, and guidelines consistent with company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Ensures compliance with OSHA standards.
Ensures hazardous materials are used in a proper manner and proper waste disposal.
Establishes and monitors compliance with all federal, state, and local statutes.
Be aware of security and the safety of the building and employees. Report any unsafe condition to management as required.
Responds to building or employee incidents or accidents promptly and appropriately, and reports to management as the situation warrants.
Quality Management System Implementation :
Comply with company policies and procedure guidelines with special attention to safety and quality regulations.
Conduct internal audits to ensure company compliance with ISO9001, AS9100 and ITAR regulations and requirements. Provide improvement and corrective action plan proposals to management.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
Over 3 years of relevant manufacturing work experience
Aerospace and Defense industry experience preferred
