1.The Teacher Assistant works closely and assists the classroom teacher with academic and/or behavioral implementation and support, which may include teaching a small reading, math or other groups daily.
2. The Teacher Assistant receives the same extensive training and coaching that the classroom teachers do.
3. Assist faculty members in the classroom setting and outside the classroom setting to implement the curriculum
4. Assist the Special Education Teacher in implementing student plans (IEPs, 504s, intervention)
5. Assist faculty in implementing academic and behavior plans
6. Receive training in RE-1 Valley District pedagogy and curriculum, and assessment in order to be maximally effective with students.
7. Fulfill regular monitoring duties (e.g., before- and after-school care, playground monitoring, etc.)
8. Any other duties as assigned

Caliche Elementary and Caliche Jr/Sr High School, located outside Iliff, CO, are a part of RE-1 Valley School District. The District Administration Center is located in Sterling, CO (Logan County) in the Northeastern corner of Colorado on Interstate 76 alongside the Platte River. Having the largest population, approximately 13,900, in Logan County and much of the surrounding area, Sterling offers shopping, restaurants, numerous parks, a recreation center, access to medical care and is located near North Sterling Reservoir.
