Job Title: Director of Medical Staff Services
Job Summary:
The Director of Medical Staff Services is responsible for overseeing the administrative functions of the medical staff office, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with medical staff, hospital administration, and external agencies.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage the credentialing and privileging process for medical staff members
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date provider files
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate medical staff meetings and prepare meeting agendas and minutes
- Serve as a liaison between the medical staff and hospital administration
- Provide support and guidance to medical staff members on issues related to credentialing and privileging
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and perform data analysis as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field required, Master's degree preferred
- Certified Professional Medical Services Manager (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical staff services or credentialing
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to medical staff services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and credentialing software
