What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fundraising and Development Manager position at Reconnect Rochester?
Reconnect Rochester is seeking a full-time Fundraising & Development Manager to join a dynamic and growing team that works day-in and day-out to improve mobility in our community.
The Fundraising & Development Manager’s primary role is to help attract financial and in-kind resources to fuel Reconnect Rochester’s work. They will work to inspire individuals, corporations and foundations to support the programs and events* that advance Reconnect Rochester’s mission.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Co-Executive Director to implement Reconnect’s annual Membership Drive to attract individual donor support, including membership gift selection & ordering, website content development, solicitation mailing coordination, processing & tracking donations, donor follow-up, and acknowledgement letters.
- Develop new strategies to engage, inspire and inform our supporting members and supporters about mobility issues in our community!
- Process all types of donations from start to finish, and manage our donor database (DonorSnap), producing reports as needed and serving as our system expert.
- Work in partnership with an event planning committee to produce The ROC ‘n Roll annual fundraising ride, leading the charge on sponsorships, in-kind donations, event logistics, and other aspects of the event.
- Handle all aspects of an Annual Community Report Out event as an opportunity to engage and recognize Reconnect’s donors and community partners.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Outreach Manager on the annual publication of a Community Impact Report that reflects our work and impact in the community.
- Collaborate with the Co-Executive Director to attract corporate support for Reconnect Rochester’s programs and events*, helping to develop compelling materials & marketing benefits, and managing our corporate relationships.
- Collaborate with the Co-Executive Director to attract grant support for Reconnect Rochester’s programs and events*; including grant research, grant applications, grant management, grant reporting & evaluation, and relationship management.
- Support the Co-Executive Director with major gifts coordination, identifying prospects within our base of support and facilitating plans for engagement and cultivation.
- Collaborate with the Co-Executive Director & Board Treasurer on budget development to set income goals for individual giving, sponsorships, grants, and event income.
- Collaborate and coordinate with the Marketing & Outreach Manager on the utilization of Reconnect’s communication channels (i.e. website, e-newsletter, social media) to support our Membership Drive and fundraising events.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Outreach Manager on our quarterly Engagement Breakfasts to follow up with people interested in financially supporting Reconnect Rochester’s work.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Outreach Manager in the management of products and sales in our online shop and strategies to increase merchandise sales.
*Current programs and events include: Rochester Street Films, Complete Streets Makeover, Downtown SmART Streets, and Bike Education & Programming.
The Fundraising & Development Manager will need proficiency in (or a willingness to learn) the following IT platforms to conduct their work: Google Suite (email, calendar & doc management), DonorSnap (donor management), MailChimp (email management), Wordpress (website management) & Canva (graphic design).
Additional Requirements:
- Possesses education, transferable skills and 3 years of experience in a combination of the following areas: fundraising & development, non-profit administration, event management, volunteer management, marketing & communications, database management, project management, corporate partnerships, and relationship management
- Is self-directed, able to manage a healthy workload, and drive implementation of multi-faceted projects
- Is interested in professional growth in the field of fundraising and development
- Works well in a team environment and with diverse groups of people
- Is organized, resourceful, self-motivated and flexible
- Has strong written, verbal/relational and IT skills
- Is able to work periodic weekend and evening hours
- Has a personal interest and passion for helping our community become more multi-modal!
Hours, Benefits & Compensation:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week position, with 36 hour summer work week (Wed or Fri afternoons off every week from Memorial Day to Labor Day)
- Pay range of $23.50 - $26 per hour ($49,000-$54,000 annually) commensurate with education, skills and experience
