What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Quality Assurance Strategist position at Recovery Centers of America?
The Regional Quality Assurance Strategist is responsible for the regional implementation, management, coordination and oversight of RCA's Quality Assurance (QA) Performance Improvement & Compliance activities, encompassing both detox and residential levels of care. The Regional Quality Assurance Strategist provides direct supervision to site Quality Assurance Assistants to ensure daily responsibilities are successfully completed and proactive mitigation of risk occurs. The Regional Quality Assurance Strategist is responsible to ensure data reporting and trending is utilized to implement continuous quality monitoring and targeted performance improvement initiatives to ensure standardization, consistency, and high-quality care is provided.
Responsibilities:
- Chart QA audits monthly
- Daily chart audits based on priority issues and/or PIP/CAPs/DCOs
- Ensure PIP follow up and correction for areas of concern
- Follow up with staff regarding results of audits, compile summary
- Disseminate deficiency reports/docs
- Work with leadership to ensure documentation timeliness and completion
- Provide monthly Compliance Summary Response
- Provide Incident Reports; discuss/identify trends in daily meeting ensuring all are investigated with interviews and collect data; ensure incident follow-up is completed
- Follow any state reporting requirements
- Send weekly Incident Reports to Mission Center
- Conduct investigations (interviews, review of footage, root cause as needed)
- Respond to/follow up on all patient grievances; send weekly Grievance reports to Mission Center
- Manage Patient Satisfaction Surveys, daily tracking and weekly aggregation; follow up with patients on completion
- Collect, prepare and distribute data for leadership
- Co-chair committee meetings with site leadership (i.e. QAPI Committee Meeting)
- Ensure follow through on Senior Leadership PIPs
- Provide leadership with weekly data/information as requested
- Assist in development, dissemination and teaching of performance improvement plans
- Assist in developing Plan of Corrections (DCOs, CAPS, PIPS), monitor completion, ensure appropriate follow up
- Train staff on Regulatory & Accrediting Requirements/Readiness
- Survey & Survey Prep: assist in state, local, accrediting body preparation, serve as site liaison during on site survey
- Strategic oversight of all organizational and regional areas includes: risk management, patient satisfaction surveys, regulatory/payor/accreditation compliance, clinical outcomes management, clinical programming, quality management committees, coordination of care, models of supervision, system validity/reliability, and operational efficiency
- Strategic oversight includes: implementation/monitoring of PIP’s and strategies, proactive analysis of systems/processes that underscore adverse/high-risk events and/or decline in measurement scores and implement action steps to address
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (healthcare management, psychology, social services, nursing); master's preferred
- 5 years of administrative and/or clinical experience and 5 years quality management experience with a focus on behavioral healthcare
- Understanding of systems of quality measurement/management and evidence based practices (ASAM, SAMHSA, HEDIS, NCQA, NIDA, NAMI)
- Understanding of Risk Management best practices
- Previous experience implementing systems and process to include organizational change management
- Understanding of managed care to include commercial insurance and CMS governance (Medicaid/Medicare)
- Knowledge of ongoing survey readiness and survey processes to include federal regulations, state regulations, Joint Commission, and CARF surveys & standards
- Experience working with electronic health records
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Excellent organizational skills required
- Travel: 50% travel is required

Pay: $85,000.00 - $87,000.00 per year
