About the Role

My client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join their finance team in Gilroy, CA. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the month-end close process and help ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet schedules and supporting documentation.
• Analyze general ledger accounts and investigate variances.
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather and validate financial information.
• Assist with year-end audit preparation and respond to auditor inquiries.
• Continuously improve processes and controls related to month-end closing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2 years of accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on month-end close.
• Solid understanding of GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting software & Excel. Experience with JD Edwards highly preferred*
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Team player: ability to adapt and handle additional tasks as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or pursuing CPA certification.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and automated close tools.
