The Role:
The Cloud Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining the always-on production systems. This person will join a small Boca Raton based technical team that will partner with Cloud Engineering to deploy application and infrastructure stacks into red violet’s cloud computing environment.
What You Will Do:
- Perform on-call duty as part of a team maintaining responsibility for the availability and performance of the system from an end-to-end perspective
- Monitor the health of the system, automating system health, maintenance tasks, and reporting systems as needed
- Partner with cross functional technology teams to deploy and maintain application environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Proactively identify, research, and resolve technical problems
- Troubleshoot complex issues while using professional concepts and tools
- Develop quality documentation of technical processes and procedures
- Engage in two-way knowledge sharing with peers on the Cloud Operations team to ensure parity across team
- Other duties as assigned
What You Bring:
- One or more years of experience working with organizations running and maintaining a 24x7 Internet-oriented production environment, preferably across multiple data centers, involving at least hundreds of instances
- Operator level experience in deployment frameworks leveraging tools such as Jenkins for automated deployments
- Familiarity with DevOps concepts and tooling (IaC, CI/CD, Automation, Configuration Management, etc)
- Working knowledge of AWS products including EC2, ECS, Redis, and Lambda
- Fundamental knowledge of Linux, including networking, file systems, security and the Linux kernel
- Highly organized mindset - ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize responsibilities efficiently
- Proven ability to build consensus, motivate, and collaborate with a team of technology professionals
- Problem Solving – ability to identify root cause based on symptom and problem analysis, developing solutions to environmental challenges, identifying and creating plans to implement the most effective solutions
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present findings and recommendations to leadership, including C level executives
- Strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment, leveraging new and emerging technologies
- AWS certification (Solutions Architect Associate) a big plus
