REDCOM Design & Construction, in Westfield, NJ, is looking for an energetic and experienced Project Accountant. The right candidate will manage all aspects of Project Accounting activities, along with monitoring our Construction & Accounting systems for data/process accuracy and timeliness of entries that affect our financial reporting.

This individual will need to:
- Manage high volume invoicing, account reconciliations, vendor management & collections
- Automate and enhance our billing process
- Manage the AIA billing process, ensuring timely submission of payment applications
- Record and categorize all project costs, including labor, materials, subcontractors, and overhead, to generate comprehensive job cost reports
- Track and manage change orders, ensuring proper documentation and financial adjustments are made.
- Review all subcontractor and supplier lien waivers for accuracy
- Manage vendor set-ups in Sage Intacct, through activating new vendors
- Enter AIA owner invoices in Sage Intacct, as well as Procore
- Take ownership to ensure all new projects are created in Sage Intacct
The person in this role must have the ability to:
- Perform new and additional responsibilities
- Participate in special projects
- Assist other departments as needed and perform other duties as assigned
- Assist project managers in maintaining all documentation related to subcontracts, purchase orders and change orders
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 3 plus years project accounting experience; or an equivalent of education and experience required
- Advanced knowledge of project accounting concepts and practices
- Accounting experience in an architecture firm or construction firm preferred
Technical Aptitude:
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel
- Proficiency in Sage Intacct accounting software a big plus
- Working knowledge of Procore
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Willingness to embrace new technologies and constantly strive for greater efficiencies through process or software implementations
