What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper position at Redeemer Lutheran Church?
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Bookkeeper. In this role, you will process payments to our vendors and key in payroll data. Bookkeeping experience is not required but preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience with bookkeeping and financial principals. The position requires 6-8 hours per month. Hours are flexible but will require work throughout the month.
Duties include:
- Provide detailed and accurate payments
- File and maintain accurate records and documentation
- Print checks from Quicken
- Perform regular data backups of Quicken data
- Receive work hours from employees and enter that data into Paychex payroll software
- Generate reports from Quicken and Excel to provide to the church council and treasurer.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in using Quicken desktop
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Experience with Paychex is a plus
