Education in global communication is paramount in developing cognitive skills, creating opportunities for upward mobility, and establishing a foundation to excel in an ever increasing globalized society. We strive to provide local language learning opportunities in Arabic, English, Spanish and Mandarin through our enrichment programs to youth and adults, regardless of socioeconomic background.
Purpose of Position: The Teaching Programs Volunteer will support both classroom and administrative tasks by assisting language teachers, preparing materials and support program operations, data entry, and the coordination of resources for teachers and students.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering interactive, student-centered lessons in English, Spanish, Mandarin or Arabic
- Provide classroom management support by helping facilitate activities and maintaining an engaging environment
- Support in the preparation of organizing materials, resources, and lesson plans
- Assist in data collection and entry, tracking attendance, and recording progress
- Participate in regular team meetings and quarterly gatherings
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation to volunteer sites (Sites in Hillsborough County)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Enthusiastic about engaging with young learners
- Experience or interest in education and language programs
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Proficient or willing to learn to use online tools for student success
- Completion of a Level II background clearance
- Available to commit to a regular volunteer schedule (5-40 hours per week)
