Overview
Reggio & Co., a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool for children ages 2 through Kindergarten, is seeking a Director of Operations to oversee the day-to-day functioning of the school. This leadership role will focus on maintaining compliance with Maryland State Licensing requirements and ensuring smooth operations for our school program. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about early childhood education.
Responsibilities
- Licensing Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with all Maryland State Licensing regulations and standards for childcare facilities
- Manage the renewal process for all necessary licenses and certifications.
- Stay updated on changes in state requirements and implement necessary adjustments to school policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular internal audits and ensure staff are trained on compliance-related matters.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day school operations, including facility maintenance, safety protocols, and supply management.
- Coordinate staffing, ensuring adequate teacher-child ratios and coverage for all classrooms.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to manage scheduling, attendance, and other operational tasks.
- Address operational challenges and ensure the seamless delivery of services.
- Human Resources and Staff Management:
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, and training staff to meet the school’s needs.
- Oversee the purchasing of supplies, materials, and equipment needed for the school's operations.
- Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with the school’s budgetary goals.
- Parent and Community Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for parents regarding operational matters, including school safety and facility updates.
- Support the planning and execution of events, activities, and parent engagement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in school operations, MD child care, early childhood education, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Maryland State Licensing requirements for childcare facilities.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
