Summary:
Serve as athletics communications and sports information director while working collaboratively with the university’s Department of Marketing and Communications to support the effective recruitment of student-athletes while strengthening the Regis brand. Promote the university’s intercollegiate athletics program, including increasing the visibility for individual student-athletes and varsity teams maximizing print and digital media.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare news releases and feature articles highlighting intercollegiate athletics.
- Distribute sports information to local, state and national media including student-athletes hometown media outlets using the Merit platform.
- Develop and coordinate media coverage for all home intercollegiate athletic events.
- Serve as game operations specialist, supervising scorer’s tables at home contests.
- Conceptualize and develop game programs, media guides, and other promotional publications and marketing materials for intercollegiate athletics, ensuring consistent use of university and athletic branding guidelines.
- Maintain athletics records and statistical files as per college, conference and NCAA requirements.
- Manage and update the athletic website.
- Promote individual student-athletes for post-season honors and serve as the university liaison with the GNAC conference and NCAA offices for statistics and records.
- Monitor social media team sites, managed by team coaches, and create content for Regis College Athletics social media platforms
- Coordinate photography and video for the Department of Athletics and maintain sports photo and video galleries and archives.
- Assist in coordinating yearly Awards Banquet and Golf Tournament for the Athletics program.
- Coordinate individual sport senior day celebrations including script production.
- Develop and implement athletic promotional special events including the solicitation of sponsorships.
- Exhibit knowledge about, and adhere to, the policies, rules and standards established by Regis College, the NCAA (Division III), and the athletic conferences with which the university is affiliated.
- Serve as the official spokesperson for athletic department matters in collaboration with the Dean of Athletics.
- Manage the Department’s media day.
- Oversee university branding on all livestream videos of athletic competition.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Athletics
- Develop an understanding and passion for the Regis College mission.
- Develop and coordinate a broadcasting effort at select home events, managing equipment and assignment of talent.
Supervisory Experience:
- Supervise a graduate intern specializing in Sports Information. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Regis College’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Skills/Experience/Training Required:
- An unwavering passion for collegiate athletics and supporting the academic and athletic advancement of student-athletes.
- Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, marketing, or related field required.
- A high level of computer literacy including Macintosh and PC; familiar with Canva, Quark, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Acrobat, Presto Sports, and multiple statistical in-game programs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including AP Style, strong interpersonal skills to work with various college constituencies.
- The ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Works well as a team member or independently.
- Excels in prioritizing multiple tasks with attention to detail, problem solving and follow-through to consistently meet expectations and deadlines.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- May require bending and carrying of supplies with the ability to lift more than 40 lbs.
- May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
- This position requires on-campus work during nights and weekends.
