Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will assist with managing the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including benefits, HRIS, electronic document management, pay administration, leave management, recognition program and enforcing company policies and practices. This role will also be responsible for the day-to-day administration of human resources functions, working closely with management and team members to facilitate a high-performance and high-engagement culture.
Essential Functions
Provides support with all areas of the organization’s benefits platform, which may include enrollment and questions, insurance payments and monthly reconciliations, benefits data entry and database accuracy, benefit plan enrollment/onboarding, administration leave of absence matters, as well as on-going benefit plan administration
· Respond to employee questions and provide support as needed in resolving issues
·Manage leave of absence requests including disability leave, Family and Medical Leave and personal leave
·Assist with annual open enrollment and conduct new hire orientation and onboarding process
·Responsible for ensuring accurate entry of benefit related information for new enrollments, status changes, qualifying event changes, and terminations in the ADP HRIS and monitors carrier feeds to ensure accurate updates
- Reconcile and process monthly premiums for insurance plans
- Assist with developing and distributing HR related communications, including managing ADP website monthly updates.
· Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include anti- harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
· Implements employee recognition programs
· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
· Attends and participates in team member disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and Company policy
- Responds to unemployment claims and employment verification requests
- Electronic Personnel File Management

Qualifications
· An Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred
· 5 years of proven HR Generalist or Benefits Specialist experience
· Must have a strong working knowledge and understanding of employee benefits administration processes and services
· Understanding of general Human Resources policies, procedures, and best practices
· Strong computer/technology proficiency (MS Office) and database utilization and management skills. ADP Workforce Now experience preferred. Experience working with HR databases, involving data input, data maintenance and data retrieval
· Strong organization skills; must be extremely detail oriented. Attention to detail is critical for success in this role
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills to deal tactfully with team members, providers, and vendors. Must be service oriented with the desire and ability to provide a high level of service to team members in a professional and courteous manner.
· Must have good judgment and discretion for handling confidential information
· Ability to build trust and act accordingly using discretion is essential to success in this role
· Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment with frequent interruptions
· Demonstrated time management skills to meet multiple deadlines
· Excellent administrative skills (database entry and management, report development, record keeping, etc.)
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability and flexibility to interact with team members at all levels of the organization with tact and diplomacy
· Must be customer-focused, self-motivated and able to handle multiple priorities
· Share in the desire and have the ability and skills to grow with the HR Department as the organization grows
· Available to work flexible hours and/or some evenings as needed
