JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY :
Under the guidance and direction of the Transportation Manager, the Office Clerk is responsible for enhancing departmental functions by performing clerical duties related to the operations of the Transportation Department. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgement and self-motivate in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects and tasks. At times, this position requires the individual to work under tight deadlines and manage a variety of clerical related activities and confidential matters with discretion.
JOB DUTIES :
Essential Functions :
- Screen incoming calls and general correspondences and respond accordingly.
- Assist with supporting of company policies and programs through communications such as phone, emails, meetings, etc.
- Assist in responding to employees' inquiries regarding general personnel questions.
- Assist with creating and maintaining personnel files.
- Participate in staff meetings.
- Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
- Assist in the coordination, documentation, and completion of related projects.
- Work within all company systems to support data entry and other duties assigned associated to the specific systems.
- Assist Transportation Team with projects and assignments as needed.
- Recommend best practices and process improvements to ensure consistent and effective services and provide and contribute to the overall success of the Transportation department and the organization.
