Our client, a trusted scrap metal processing company in Harrisburg, is seeking a Retail Materials Inspector to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to learn multiple retail positions over time and grow within the company!
Shift:
- Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
- Saturdays as needed from 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Job Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming loads for unwanted items and ensure compliance with company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers via radio to coordinate daily tasks.
- Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow to maintain a safe work environment.
- Ensure customers follow company rules and report any violations to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness of the peddler pile area, including sweeping and general housekeeping.
- Be prepared to assist in other retail areas when needed.
Qualifications:
- Self-motivated and dependable—must show up on time every day!
- Works well with others and communicates effectively.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
- Ability to stand and walk for 8–9 hours per day and work in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and bend/twist as needed.
