Position Purpose
Under the general direction of the Director of Cardiovascular Clinical Programs, the incumbent coordinates several national registries and databases for cardiovascular services. Some registries are mandated by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and others are required by payers or accrediting bodies. The Registrar serves as the official Registry Site Manager and IT database owner. The incumbent coordinates and participates in the collection of clinical data utilizing knowledge of data definitions, clinical practice guidelines, and appropriate use criteria.
Nature and Scope
The incumbent works closely with cardiovascular program administrative and physician directors and nursing staff to manage the collection and submission of accurate clinical data. Data integrity is a key responsibility to promote utilization of data to inform quality improvement and practice guideline changes.
The incumbent is a resource to physician departments and sections for the statistical retrieval and interpretation of reports from the registries and accreditation databases. He/she works with clinical teams to analyze data, create specialized reports, and coordinate presentations to teams and leadership.
Maintains confidential records on all patient information and files; assists in planning, organizing, and in the implementation of the cardiology information system and data submission software as it relates to registry information.
The incumbent handles routine requests, assists researchers in gathering information for
cardiovascular-related studies, and provides guidance in the appropriate use of registry data.
The incumbent works across all areas of cardiovascular services and requires the ability to handle numerous tasks and be adept in maintaining focus during frequent interruptions, while meeting multiple deadlines. Excellent collaboration and communication skills with all levels of staff is required. . Incumbent must be
able to take a project from an idea to reality in a given time frame.
Incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical,
motor/sensor, psychosocial and safety appropriate to the age of the patients served and meets
standards of quality as measured by the unit/department age-specific competency standards.
This position doesprovide direct patient care.

Graduate from an accredited nursing program, with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or other health related field. Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.
Experience:
Three (3) years Cardiac Cath Lab experience (minimum) preferred.
License(s):
Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license.
Certification(s):
Expected to obtain ACC-NCDR certification for all registries when the certification becomes available.
Computer / Typing:
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
