Job Category: Quality PURPOSE CASS is designed to emphasize the end goal of enhancing safety by evaluation of data and information and making appropriate changes to the inspection and maintenance programs to preclude errors from encroaching on system safety or resulting in a non-compliance issue for Republic Airways. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Establishes and maintains CASS database as it pertains to performance (audits, VDRPs, voluntary reporting, pushed maintenance, logbook errors, etc.) and effectiveness (MELs, ODIs, interruptions, etc.) Performs continuous analysis of data, identifies trends, and root cause analysis Researches performance metrics and generates reports required for the CASS Performance Working Groups and CASS Review Board, including collecting relevant information to the specific meeting’s agenda and attendees Facilitates the Monthly CASS Working Groups Chairs CASS Review Board in the event the CASS Manager needs a delegate Generates and distributes CASS reports, collecting information from multiple cross-divisional sources Understands and evaluates all forms of data used to measure Reliability/effectiveness, including but not limited to components, system, and aircraft performance for safety and economic impact. Understands and evaluates all forms of data used to measure performance of maintenance, including Quality Assurance findings, Regulatory Compliance findings, FAA Compliance Actions, FAA Quarterly letter notices, Supply Chain performance, etc. Identifies trends for pushed maintenance and research as needed. Communicates with various departments to confirm and document reasons for pushed maintenance Reports data and trending to various departments under Maintenance and Operations organization Prepares and presents electronic presentations that include data visualization for overview of statistical data as well as performance and effectiveness of findings and actions Coordinates, prepares, and processes projects for investigation of root causes of process improvements Assists in investigations into maintenance discovery reports, ASAP ERC requests, and other non-compliance with safety risk controls established through the SMS process. Monitors, investigates, and follows-up with voluntary reporting (discovery reports), including responding to individual submitters with corrective actions Identifies and documents hazards in Safety Reporting system, including assisting other departments in Maintenance with identification and documentation of hazards if needed, per Republic Airways SMS program. Tracks and trends event details, findings, and causal factors of voluntary reporting to assist in global improvement corrective actions Works with appropriate departments/management to ensure compliance and implementation of process improvements and/or corrective actions Schedules appropriate follow-up to corrective action plans to ensure effectiveness Prepares weekly and monthly codeshare partner reports to be presented in their respective meetings Interprets data collected and communicates findings of data to management Attends various meetings as oversight for CASS program Travels to bases for investigation and/or training purposes Researches new data gathering and analysis techniques Gathers and interprets other data upon request Other duties as assigned by the CASS Manager REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Degree in Aviation/Management or related field or equivalent work experience At least 2 years’ experience using rational databases and determining root cause analysis Understanding or use of statistical and data driven processes such as LEAN, Six Sigma, and/or Theory of Constraints. Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in: Data Analytics Data Visualization Database management Knowledge in risk management strategies and controls Ability to collect, organize, visualize, and assimilate data by turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software Ability to work under time constraints with a sense of urgency to accomplish assignments and projects and handle multiple, concurrent tasks and projects with accuracy and proficiency in a fast-paced environment and prioritize accordingly Ability to read and edit documents, follow instructions, learn, and understand procedures Must be adept at interrogating data, performing cost/benefit analysis, and championing change across departments, business units and divisional. Must have good facilitation skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills. Must effectively communicate with internal customers both verbally and in writing, including Engineering organizations, Planning, Maintenance, Inspection, NDT, Materials, and Maintenance Programs. Microsoft Office skills are required Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time Able to understand and apply company policies and procedures Familiarity with 14CFR 121.373, AC 120-79 (as amended), Ops Specs D072 (Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program) and D074 (Reliability Program), MSG-3 Analysis, and 14 CFR Part 5 Safety Management Systems.
