Founded in 2016, Republic is headquartered in New York City with offices worldwide. Republic is looking for an Operations Manager to join the Platform Operations team.
What you’ll do
1. Payment Operations
- Oversee the platform’s payment operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across transactions. This includes establishing best practices for disbursements and reconciliations.
- Develop, implement, and optimize operational processes to improve scalability and reliability.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer service teams
- Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to identify and address inefficiencies.
2. Vendor & Partner Management
- Manage key third-party vendor relationships, including banking partners, custodians, and payment providers.
- Negotiate contracts and oversee service-level agreements to ensure optimal service and cost efficiency.
- Serve as the primary liaison for vendor onboarding, issue resolution, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards related to payments, banking, and financial operations. Work with Legal and Compliance teams to maintain compliance frameworks
4. Governance, Risk Management & Internal Controls
- Develop and enforce business policies to mitigate risks and enhance operational integrity.
- Act as a key point of contact within operations with regulatory bodies, auditors, and other external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with compliance to conduct regular audits and risk assessments to proactively identify and mitigate operational risks related to payments and banking.
- Lead incident response for operational or compliance-related issues.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with senior management to align operational strategies with business objectives.
- Communicate operational performance, compliance updates, and risk insights to the Executive Risk Committee.
- Drive cross-functional projects to improve operational efficiency and compliance.
- Foster a team culture of innovation and operational excellence.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in fintech operations.
- Lead training initiatives to build and empower a high-performing operations team.
Our ideal candidate
- 5 years of experience in payment operations, governance, or compliance within the financial services or the fintech industry.
- Proven track record in payment operations, fintech, or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and risk management frameworks.
- Experience managing relationships with banks, custodians, and payment providers.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements in financial operations.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

A qualified candidate, based in New York, can expect a base salary of $125-165K. A standard offer from Republic includes base compensation, equity options, and a highly competitive benefits and perks package. Offers are determined by a number of factors including (but not limited to) the applicant's experience, skills, certifications, as well as internal equity among our team.
