Position Overview:
Residential Transitions, Inc. is a growing social services organization committed to embracing, supporting, and honoring each person’s individuality in our programs. We serve the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area through our various Twin Cities locations. As an Accounting Associate, you will provide critical support to RTI’s property management accounting division, while assisting with general accounting administration for the main business division. Your responsibilities will include daily accounting tasks, property invoicing, payroll processing, and supporting the accounting department with special projects and reporting.
Role Responsibilities:
- Process EMR billings to QuickBooks daily.
- Record cash receipts and make bank deposits.
- Generate monthly rent charges and handle lease administration.
- Enter accounts payable (AP) invoices and assist with property invoicing.
- Complete document archival and storage processes.
- Send out weekly aging reports and conduct monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards.
- Prepare month-end closing journal entries and accruals.
- Process biweekly payroll.
- Help prepare annual property budgets.
- Apply payments to customer accounts and manage deposits.
- Assist the billing team with past due accounts, invoicing, and customer payments.
- Support the accounting department with special projects and reporting needs.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably with a focus on medical billing or property management.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop software.
- Strong ability to navigate and create Excel spreadsheets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize, work independently, and manage multiple tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Access to a working vehicle with valid auto insurance.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. or more.
- Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background check.
