The Opportunity:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team. This role is vital in managing financial transactions, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate records. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing accounts payable, invoicing clients, ensuring prompt payment of invoices, filing monthly sales tax reports and payments, and processing payroll.
General Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable invoices
- Prepare weekly payments, ensuring timely payments to all vendors
- Review the AR Aging report weekly and follow up on accounts over 30 days old.
- Assist with the timely processing of payroll
- Process semi-monthly 401(k) contributions to employee accounts
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Reconcile credit card statements
- Maintain an orderly financial filing system
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- 2-4 years’ accounting experience required.
- Ability to work well alone and in a team environment.
- Prior experience in payroll processing is preferred.
- Experience with accounting software (Sage 100 preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
Job Type: Full-time
Hours: Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM CT to 6:00 PM CT.
