Position Overview
The Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of bar operations, including staff management, inventory control, menu development, and customer service. This role ensures that the bar maintains a high-quality, welcoming environment while meeting business standards for compliance and profitability. The Bar Manager works closely with other departments to deliver a seamless guest experience and uphold the venues commitment to excellence and high-end hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff Management : Recruit, interview, and hire bar staff. Conduct training sessions to ensure staff are knowledgeable about the bar menu and service standards.
- Scheduling : Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during all operating hours.
- Staff Performance : Monitor staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Inventory Control : Conduct regular inventory checks, manage ordering, and maintain strong relationships with vendors for bar supplies.
- Menu Development : Create, update, and innovate cocktail menus, ensuring seasonal trends and high-quality ingredients are incorporated.
- Quality Assurance : Ensure drinks are prepared and presented to the highest standard through regular quality checks.
- Customer Engagement : Engage with guests, resolve complaints professionally, and cultivate a welcoming, upscale atmosphere.
- Compliance & Safety : Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with alcohol service laws and responsible service practices.
- Budgeting & Cost Control : Develop and manage the bars budget, monitor expenses, and implement cost-control measures.
- Promotions & Events : Collaborate with the events team on bar-related promotions and special events.
- Marketing : Work with the marketing team to promote the bars offerings and maintain a strong online presence.
- Team Coordination : Coordinate with the kitchen, dining, and events teams to ensure seamless service and a cohesive guest experience.
