Variable Design Specialist

As a Variable Data Printing operator, you would be using specialized industry-supported software to write logic and precisely lay out variable and static elements on print production pieces in accordance with customer specifications. This position will be working directly with customers and various departments within Rex Three Inc.

Qualifications

Successful candidates must be self-motivated, possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, and have the ability to multi-task, analyze, and problem-solve complex processing scenarios in a fast-paced print production environment. Precision and accuracy are vital in this role. The ability to grasp and learn new processes quickly is important - as well as being able to apply known processes to new jobs for creative and efficient production solutions.

Qualified candidate must be able to meet deadlines, adapt to change, multi-task, prioritize, and troubleshoot problems if they arise.

Applicants must be familiar with the Adobe Creative Cloud applications - with

• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, In Design and Photoshop.

• A degree or related certificate in Graphic Arts, or

• 1-year practical experience in prepress as it applies to print composition products is required.

• Familiarity with variable data print and composition software such as XMPie or Fusion Pro is preferred.
• A basic understanding of data and databases is necessary. Javascript Programming language or QLingo, a scripting language developed by XMPie, is a plus. Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office, is a plus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Consult with supervisor or client to evaluate individual project needs.

• Study instructions (illustrations, photographs, or text) to plan presentation of product, or service.

• Analyzes customer data and integrates into variable templates using relational logic, basic programming language, and application tools.

• Prepare proofs for client to gain approval for job production.

• Review quality of final product before release for print
• . Document process or process improvements on all jobs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
