The Person
As a Pastry Prep Cook/Baker at Rhubarb, you champion Southern foodways with modern sensibilities. You believe that the whole process is important when it comes to dining: from sourcing our produce and proteins locally and farm-direct, to whole animal usage and sustainability, to working as a team to execute a consistent experience for our guests. You are an autonomous person but enjoy working in a small team.
The Role
- Responsible for pastry prep, from scratch croissant production and baking items for the wholesale program as well as in-house programs. Production includes but is not limited to: an advanced bread program, laminated doughs, morning pastries, cakes, and seasonal rotating plated desserts inspired by local produce.
- Mix, shape, proof, and bake
- Follow recipes carefully
- Support the pastry team in a variety of stations/roles/recipe execution
The Qualifications
- 2 years of professional bread or pastry experience
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Lift up to 50lbs
- Great taste in music
