We are hiring a Pastry Prep Cook / Baker, but the person will always come before the role.
The Person
As a Pastry Prep Cook / Baker at Rhubarb, you champion Southern foodways with modern sensibilities. You believe that the whole process is important when it comes to dining : from sourcing our produce and proteins locally and farm-direct, to whole animal usage and sustainability, to working as a team to execute a consistent experience for our guests. You are an autonomous person but enjoy working in a small team.
The Role
- Responsible for pastry prep, from scratch croissant production and baking items for the wholesale program as well as in-house programs. Production includes but is not limited to : an advanced bread program, laminated doughs, morning pastries, cakes, and seasonal rotating plated desserts inspired by local produce.
- Mix, shape, proof, and bake
- Follow recipes carefully
- Support the pastry team in a variety of stations / roles / recipe execution
