Richard Design Services (RDS) is currently seeking an In-Plant Document Controller.
Position Summary:
We're seeking a responsible, skilled and highly organized Entry/Mid-Level Document Controls Individual to be part of our team that we have in-plant at the Valero Texas City refinery. The position will report to the Reliability Manager - Rotating Equipment at Valero.
- Sort and convert hard copy files to electronic version.
- Execute company document controls requirements for project documentation and filing
- Support projects and technical groups by digitizing documents and communicating document locations and titles
- Coordination with site and design disciplines for effective document management
- Communicate with engineering and project teams regarding drawing conversions and location.
- Analyze problems and take appropriate actions to ensure document management meets client expectations.
- Coordination and Interfacing with engineering and design disciplines in retrieving, categorizing, and filing of project documents.
- Detail-oriented and meticulous work ethic
- Extremely organized and efficient
- Proven skill for implementing controlled document processes
- Work well under pressure and have impressive stress management
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proclivity for catching errors and enacting appropriate changes
- Outstanding time-management
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to determine drawing types and files appropriately (drawings, documents, spreadsheets, etc.
- Ability to manipulate electronic document orientation, layout, brightness, and legibility to achieve best quality
- Archival experience is a plus
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Excellent data organizer
- Skilled user of Adobe
- Skilled user of Microsoft Office Suite (Power Point, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Proficient in SharePoint, ProArc and/or other document management software and web-based tools
- The work will mostly take place in an In-Plant Administrative office setting, and the employee will need to communicate with others in person, over the phone, and through email. The employee should be physically able to carry out the required tasks. They may need to visit Client facilities, so it's important that the employee is in good physical health in order to travel, conduct field assessments, attend meetings at various locations, and perform other duties as required.
