CONSTRUCTION SAFETY MANAGER
Must be willing to relocate to Dexter, MO or surrounding area.
MUST HAVE OSHA 500 or be able to test for OSHA 500 upon hiring.
Qualifications
Safety, loss prevention, risk management or a related field.: 3 years (Required)
Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer certification.
Job Summary:
- Plan and implement OHS policies and programs
- Training new hires biweekly; compliance, OSHA, PPE to be jobsite ready
- Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics
- Prepare educational seminars and webinars on a regular basis
- Review existing policies and procedures
- Adhere to all the rules and regulations
- Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety
- Conduct risk assessment
- Enforce preventative measures
- Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with safety rules and regulations
- Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes
- Conduct post-accident investigations into serious accidents and near-miss accidents and recommend safety and loss control measures to department management to prevent recurrences and frequency reductions. Perform data analysis and trending, including root-cause analysis of incidents with recommended solutions for preventative measures.
- Conduct random audits of projects to ensure compliance with safety and loss control standards and guidelines established by local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain risk management’s workers’ compensation and liability claims databases.
- Maintain, compile, and submit regulatory OSHA compliance reporting in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update ISN as needed
- Be on-site for OSHA investigations and insurance adjuster inspections.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Risk Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Attributes:
- Knowledge of risk management, including administration of safety and loss control preferably in the public sector.
- Proven track record in safety and loss control. A proven track record in the public sector is an important asset.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement safety and loss control programs in a diverse work environment.
- Effective communications skills, oral and written. Oral presentation skills are very important
- Well-prepared, confident, nimble, persuasive, engaging, and in command with a diverse audience.
- Strong working knowledge of various computer applications and programs, e.g., Microsoft Word, EXCEL, and ACCESS.
Minimum Qualifications:
Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience, in safety, loss prevention, risk management, or a related field with professional experience in training and development, preferable in the public sector. Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer certification.
