Summary
Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Inc., a leading heavy highway construction company in the Midwest, is seeking to hire a Legal Administrator for the Legal Department located at the corporate headquarters in Goshen, Indiana. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Counsel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Familiarity with construction-related topics such as contracts, liens, claims, permits, and compliance requirements, paired with the ability to take information and apply it to applicable company forms.
- Review, organize, and maintain construction contracts, subcontracts, and service agreements.
- Track licenses, permits, authorities, letting participation information, leases, and certifications to ensure they remain up-to-date.
- Organize and maintain legal files, including litigation documents, compliance records, and historical company holdings documents and information.
- Manage schedules for the legal team, including hearings, depositions, and meetings.
- Prepare letters, documents, overnight mailings, and filings for legal team, and executives as requested.
- Professionally communicate with attorneys, customers, vendors, area personnel, executives, and government agencies.
- Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality regarding sensitive legal and business information with professionalism and care
- Assist attorneys, and executives as requested, in a timely manner and proactively seek out additional assignments.
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required
- Three (3) to Five (5) years of relevant experience preferred
- Must have a desire for continuous learning
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, balancing multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
- Advanced Microsoft Office is required
- Contract Management software experience preferred
- Proficiency in legal and public records online database research
- Notary public license required (company will assist candidate in obtaining this qualification if hired)
- Independent problem-solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail and a penchant for organization and timeliness
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A successful candidate must have integrity, adaptability, and take ownership of assignments.
