What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traveling Superintendent position at RimePro Inc?
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage subcontractor work on-site.
Oversee day-to-day construction site operations.
Review and understand project plans, specifications, and schedules.
Schedule and direct subcontractor activities to maintain a productive and safe work environment.
Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications.
Coordinate jurisdictional inspections, including building officials, health department, fire department, special inspections, public works, and owner walkthroughs.
Maintain and enforce project schedules.
Obtain final project inspections, certifications of occupancy, and compliance approvals.
Assist Project Manager with financial tracking, including managing general contractor costs and handling extra work requests from owners and subcontractors.
Compile project closeout documentation, including as-builts, warranty information, and OEM manuals.
Conduct weekly on-site safety meetings and ensure all subcontractors adhere to safety policies and procedures.
Complete daily logs by the end of each business day.
Coordinate owner’s vendors and equipment.
Review and manage all submittals.
Lead punch list issuance and completion.
Physical Requirements
Travel to various job sites in CA, AZ, NM
Walk through active construction sites in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
Work night shifts as required.
Climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding to inspect work compliance.
Operate forklifts and scissor lifts as needed.
Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Work swing and/or night shifts to maintain project timelines.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- At least 6 years of experience as a Superintendent with retail, grocery, or fuel station projects.
Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read and understand plans and submittals thoroughly.
Experience with wood framing in retail construction is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of building systems (Architectural, MEP, etc.).
Highly motivated with strong organizational, teamwork, and customer service skills.
Special training and certifications are a plus.
