Role
Reporting to the EVP of Business Development and Estimating, the Director of Business Development - US is responsible for leading the charge in identifying and securing new business opportunities across the United States. This role plays a vital part in driving the growth strategies of Rising Edge Group by working closely with pre-construction, marketing, and other internal stakeholders to ensure successful project awards, customer satisfaction, and sustainable revenue growth. The Director will develop comprehensive market strategies, provide strategic insights, and drive initiatives that position the company as a leader in its field.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to achieve corporate growth objectives.
- Identify new markets and business opportunities through client relationships and industry analysis.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, industry stakeholders, and partners.
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay abreast of industry trends, competitor strategies, and market demands.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including REG Division Managers, to develop sales and marketing strategies that align with business planning and financial projections.
- Lead negotiations and close contracts with clients, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
- Monitor sales targets, growth projections, and performance metrics, producing reports for management.
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and conferences to expand market presence.
- Develop and deliver sales presentations, business proposals, and partnership opportunities to senior management and clients.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to business development and sales colleagues, fostering a high-performing culture.
- Set quarterly goals for direct reports and evaluate performance against objectives.
- Work closely with marketing to develop promotional strategies and materials that position the company effectively in the market.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or related field, preferably in the utility or renewable field.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- Proven track record of successfully securing new business and achieving growth targets.
- Strong knowledge of business development processes and best practices.
- Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and lead initiatives effectively.
- Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage legal, operations, engineering and corporate management groups to execute contracts.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and prospects across the US.
