Responsibilities
· Participates in interviewing and hiring of Family Childcare Providers.
· Completes Family Childcare Provider Family Childcare rating scales on a yearly basis, or as needed.
· Reviews lesson plans prepared by Family Childcare Provider and observed home visits on a regularly scheduled basis, and as needed.
· Reviews and revises education work plan annually. Develops a system for administering and monitoring the education work plan. Ensure children receive educational screenings within 45 days of enrollment.
· Oversees Disabilities Plan (i.e., referrals, screening, assessments, program placement for services, etc.)
· Develops and maintains relationships with community partners for disabilities services and transition services.
· Observes individual children, as requested, and provides suggestions for behavior management and developmental concerns. Participates in team meetings of children and schedules and facilitates any meetings for children with developmental or behavioral concerns.
· Attends education home visits, parent conferences and IEO/IFSP meetings, when needed.
· Assists Family Childcare Providers in understanding and interpreting child observations, assessments, weekly plan data and establishing appropriate individual child plans (goals) based on knowledge of child development.
· Works with other coordinators/managers and childcare providers in providing needed resources to families. Develops a system which offers parents opportunities for enhancing their skills as first educator to their children.
Qualifications
· Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, with minor in Special Education.
· 2-3 years supervisory experience; 3-5 years early childhood education classroom teaching experience.
· Thorough knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP)
