What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Gaming Operations position at Rising Star Casino Resort?
The Director of Gaming Operations is responsible for planning, directing, controlling, implementing, and administering the operations, customer service, employee relations, and profitability functions/activities of the Slot & Table Games departments. Oversees Slot Department and Table Games internal controls, procedures, and sports wagering kiosks, and protects the assets of the company. On a daily basis promote positive customer satisfaction in regard to service and build positive relations with patrons and employees. Practices the Rising Star Core Values of Commitment, Integrity, and Excellence. Essential Job Functions:
- Develop all policies and procedures governing the operation of Table Games and Slot Operations. Ensures all policies and procedures are consistently executed on an ongoing basis.
- Ensures that performance standards are achieved for customer service, operating procedures, productivity, regulatory compliance, and budgeted expenses.
- Oversees table games and slot department training and coordinates department staffing in compliance with federal, state, local, and IGC regulations.
- Oversees Departmental internal controls, and procedures, and protects the assets of the company and ensures compliance with Title 31, including Multiple Transaction Logs, Currency Transaction Reports, Suspicious Activity Reports, W2G, etc.
- Direct responsibility for departmental profit margin.
- Promotes positive guest relations by knowing all amenities, events, and promotions throughout the property.
- Utilize casino management system computer functions i.e. making Reward cards, point redemption, and authorizing/issuing complimentary.
- Provide service to internal and external customers which reflects the company culture of Satisfaction, Togetherness, Appreciation, and Recognition. (S.T.A.R.)
- Conducts weekly staff meetings with Table Games and Slot Operations to provide information and overall direction as well as to receive input regarding their observations and needs.
- Works with Table Games and Slot Operations individually to stimulate their growth and development.
- Must have the ability to meet tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Marine and/or Security Departments during times of emergency or otherwise, as required.
- Maintains accountability for compliance with all Indiana Gaming Commission regulations.
- Retains responsibility for advising the General Manager of operational status and issues.
- Responsible for immediately informing on-site IGC Agent on duty, Security, and Supervisor on Duty of any Internal Control or State Regulation violations related to gaming activity of which you commit, witness, or become aware; must report pursuant to company Self-Reporting Policy.
Financial Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with the General Manager and Director of Finance, develops annual operating budgets in keeping with corporate revenue and profitability expectations.
- In conjunction with General Manager and Director of Finance, develops policies, procedures, reports, and statistics, which accurately reflect earnings, profits, cash balances, and all other financial results.
- Consistently monitors the available reports and statistics to ensure that revenue and profitability expectations are achieved or exceeded. With the responsible Department Manager, takes corrective action as needed.
- Work with the Director of Finance and the independent accounting firm to ensure that all local, state, and federal reporting requirements are satisfied.
- Coordinates Table Games and Slot Operations of ongoing corporate expectations.
Casino Operations:
- Develops operational and administrative plans.
- Approves gaming credits and limits according to internal controls.
- Controls & Staffs departments under span of control
- Directs Employees
- Arbitrates disputes.
- Interfaces with marketing manager/player development
- Ensures compliance with all federal employment and gaming laws of the state.
- Authorizes complimentaries.
- Provides service to internal and external customers which reflects the company culture and Satisfaction, Togetherness, Appreciation and Recognition (S.T.A.R).
Other Job Functions:
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by management
Job Qualifications:
Experience Required:
- 10 or more years in slot industry.
- Five years minimum in slot supervision.
Education Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, and/or Abilities Required:
- Complete knowledge of all gaming regulations; ability to effectively communicate with others.
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
- Must be able to obtain Indiana Gaming Commission Occupational License - Level 1.
