Rissmiller PLLC is seeking an attorney with 1–4 years of employment litigation experience to join our boutique, plaintiff-side firm. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside the firm’s founder on a diverse caseload of employment matters, including sexual harassment, discrimination, and wage-and-hour class actions.
Although this role is primarily remote, occasional in-person court appearances in New York City will be required. Candidates must have experience practicing in New York state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and a demonstrated ability to manage litigation from inception through trial.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management: Manage a diverse caseload of employment litigation matters from initial consultation through trial while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Document Preparation: Prepare pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and other case-related documents.
- Court Appearances: Represent clients during court hearings, arbitrations, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the firm’s founder to develop case strategies and ensure clear communication within a remote environment.
- Organization: Maintain organized case files, track case progress with attorneys, and communicate case progress with clients.
Qualifications And Skills
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- 1–4 years of employment litigation experience.
- Admission to practice in New York state and federal courts.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex cases and client relationships.
- Ability to thrive in a flexible, remote team environment.
