What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembler - SealRight Department position at Ritchie Engineering?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform all tasks involved in the production of Ritchie Engineering Company SealRight™ Department products. This includes, but is not limited to: assembling plugs, seal rights and ball valves; bending barbs; attaching handles to ball valves; prepping handles and sleeves; cleaning, testing and inspecting parts. Follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible while producing first quality product.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

- Performs assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools
- Inspect brass parts, components and gaskets
- Bend barbs to a 45° angle
- Assemble spring, depressor, plug, and E-clip for seal right product
- Assemble barbs and other components into ball valves
- Prime and clean parts with rubbing alcohol
- Check parts and test assembled product for first quality
- Report any product concerns after testing to the department supervisor
- Place finished goods on the designated pallet or warehouse location with proper labeling
- Light duty soldering of brass fittings
- Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required
- Other duties as assigned including working in other production departments as needed
HOURS:
This is a full-time 40 hour per week role working Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 3:30pm. Potential for occasional overtime and Saturdays once hired on internally.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Willingness to learn
- Proficiency in reading and writing in English
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working in a manufacturing setting
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
- Must be highly self-motivated, work with minimal supervision able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment, may work near moving equipment, and exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
