What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Companion position at Rite Konnection?
As a Safety Companion, you will play an essential role in our patient care team by closely monitoring and assisting patients who need continuous observation. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety and security of at-risk patients, including those with cognitive impairments, mobility issues, or those at risk for falls or self-harm. You will work under the guidance of nursing and medical staff to provide emotional support, assist with basic needs, and help maintain a safe environment for our patients.

- Continuous Patient Monitoring: Maintain constant vigilance over assigned patients, promptly reporting any changes in their condition or behavior to nursing staff.
- Safety Measures Implementation: Assist in implementing safety measures to prevent falls, self-harm, or other injuries, following all hospital protocols and guidelines.
- Emotional Support and Reassurance: Provide emotional support, companionship, and reassurance to patients, helping to alleviate anxiety and promote a positive hospital experience.
- Assistance with Daily Activities: Help patients with basic non-medical needs, such as eating, drinking, and ambulating, as directed by nursing staff.
- Environment Safety: Ensure the patient's environment is safe and free from hazards, contributing to a secure and healing atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in patient care or safety is a plus.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or as a safety companion is preferred.
- Excellent observational skills and a strong commitment to patient safety.
- Compassionate, patient, and able to handle stressful situations with grace.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
